Grab the bunting, because The George & Dragon in Marlow is turning one, and we’re excited to be throwing a birthday week worth celebrating.

From Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th July 2026, we’ve got hidden treasure, live music, pop-up surprises and a proper big band finale, all designed to make sure our first year in this wonderful town goes out with a bang.

The Great Dragon Hunt

Here’s the challenge: every day from Wednesday to Saturday, we’ll be hiding ten miniature toy dragons around the pub and courtyard. Find one with a tag attached and pop it to the bar to claim your prize.

Ten dragons a day means fresh treasure to track down each visit, so bring the little ones (or the competitive adults in your life) and get hunting before they’re all snapped up.

Wednesday 15th July: The Ultimate Birthday Garden Party

Kick things off with an afternoon garden party from 4pm to 6pm, complete with a live saxophonist setting the mood in the courtyard.

It’s the perfect warm-up to your evening, and if England kick off at 8pm, don’t worry, we’ll have it showing so you can settle in and stay for that too.

While you’re here, find a member of the team and say the magic words “Happy 1st Birthday” to claim a complimentary glass of prosecco with any à la carte main. Cheers to that.

The Weekend Lineup

Friday brings live music alongside our Happy Hour, plus a pop-up bar in the courtyard courtesy of Rebelian, complete with free giveaways.

Then on Saturday, with no football to compete with, we’re going bigger. A full live band takes over the courtyard for the evening, so expect a proper buzz from start to finish.
