The Heartwood family is growing!
Following our recent announcement that we had acquired The White Horse, Dorking, marking Heartwood Inn’s first pub with rooms, the group has completed on two new sites, The Plough & Harrow (formerly The George Evelyn) in Long Ditton and The Crown in Lichfield.
Both inns will be undergoing an extensive refurbishment to reflect Heartwood’s signature warm and welcoming style. The Plough & Harrow will have 139 internal dining seats with an airy extension to the rear looking on to the garden. Outside, the large garden will be landscaped to create a further 100 dining seats including 38 in a newly-constructed garden room.
The Crown, located in the historic cathedral city of Lichfield, will be transformed to create a spacious and relaxed bar area with lounge seating around a traditional fireplace. To the rear of the inn, there will be 128 dining seats including a semi private dining space for up to 14 guests, a light and airy garden room for up to 50 guests and cosy booths and snugs. A sheltered, tiered courtyard will create further seating designed for year round dining with a heated pergola.
We are really excited to welcome these two inns to the Heartwood family with both set to become part of their local communities. The Plough & Harrow is due to open at the end of November with The Crown set to open late 2024. We can’t wait to share progress on their refurbishments with you.
